Buffalo Bill's Wild West Show

Buffalo Bill was the most famous producer of Wild West Shows.   He brought the performance to venues around the world and even performed the Queen of England in London.

He earned his name through reputation as a Buffalo hunter and became the impresario of the shows that bore his name.

Much like circus acts, programs were created for the show featuring pictures of the "wild west" stories and legends.  The show was known as a great spectacle with elaborate staging, costumes, and theatrics.

Our Buffalo Bill show poster is from the back cover of one of those shows--specifically the Brooklyn New York show.  There were 126 performances of the show in Ambrose Park (Brooklyn) on a 24 acre leased site.   This specific show was staged after his largest and most famous show at the World's Fair in Chicago.   The 1894 Show was staged during a period of decline and economic hardship, however the shows continued for another decade.

Our poster is a delightful memory of the time and the show and a fine reproduction of the cover of a show catalog!
